Dear SCSI Members,

Welcome to the web page of the newly-minted Singapore Club South India (SCSI)!

It is truly an honour to serve you as the founding President of this club.

We came together in mid 2023 to form this club, with the encouragement of Mr Edgar Pang, our current Consul General of the Consulate of Singapore in Chennai. It was his wish that we form a network of Singaporeans and PRs living in South India, for the purpose of coming together for social events, being able to contact one another during times of emergency, forming other nexuses for business, common interests, and the like.

With a framework in mind, a group of like-minded Singaporeans met and chose the core committee, who have to-date worked enthusiastically and diligently to form the basis on which this new club is being built.

Our goal as a Club is to ensure that ours is a community which engages and supports all members, through a variety of events and activities throughout the year, in order to encourage each member to feel a part of a vibrant community which speaks of Singapore, it’s multi-cultural society and colourful traditions.

To this end, over the next year, we are planning a range of events to bring together our members, such as coffee mornings, speaker meetings, picnics, and road trips. We also plan to have two main events to celebrate Chinese New Year and Deepavali every year; as you all know these are two of Singapore’s main holidays which are celebrated with such colourful pomp and tradition back home. We hope that having our own celebration of these events here will bring back fond memories of time spent in Singapore, either from birth like myself, or as a new member of our Singapore society.

I earnestly request all of you to take part in as many activities as possible, encourage the SCSI team by coming forward to volunteer your time, talents and resources, and pool your ideas so that we can all be a part of making this club a truly enriching experience, and create warm and lasting friendships and invaluable connections.

Let us make SCSI a club to be reckoned with!
